People in this world are now crazy about the Keto Eating Plan. A Keto Eating Plan is known for being a low-carb eating plan. In this plan our body gets more calories from fat and protein and less from carbohydrates. This makes the body burn fats rather than carbohydrates. This fat burning makes the Keto Eating Plan a popular choice for people looking to lose weight. This plan is referred to as many different names- Ketogenic diet, low carb diet, low carb high fat, etc.

When we eat something high in carbs (carbohydrates), our body breaks down carbohydrates into the sugar glucose, which is used for energy.

Since glucose is being used for primary energy, fat is not needed for energy and is therefore stored. If we lower our intake of carbs, but still maintain our calorie intake by eating healthy fats and quality protein, our body goes into a stage called Ketosis.  

Ketosis is a natural process which the body initiates to help us survive a low intake of food. We produce Ketones during this stage, which are produced from the breakdown of fat in the liver. This supplies our body and brain with energy.
